After finding that Port Macquarie do tend to living up in the evenings, we had to get on with our plans. At the YHA in sydney we picked up a notice about work in the inner parts of New South Wales. The job concerned herbs and is taking place at a farm i the mountain area of Yarrowitch near Walcha. It turned out that the farmer and his wife were in good need of work so we agreed to come sunday already. The problem was soon that there is no public transport to walcha. No bus and no trains. The wife at the farm called Katie, suggested that we could hitchhike, so that we did:) or rather tried. We got as far as a little city called Long Flat by being picket up by some helpful french guys, but from there we were stuck. We waited for two hours thumping but people only waved at us as if they were wishing us luck or welcoming us to AUS... :S Then we just started walking until it began to darken and I would call Katie and say we would be late. But my phone had no signal so we qent a little back to the nearest settlement and was recieved by a very nice lady called Norma and her two boys and their dogs. We lended a telephone and Katie came to pick us up. So much fo hitchhiking...
